A friend and muse to Tennessee Williams, she studied acting with Jeff Corey and Lee Strasberg and is a member of The Actor’s Studio. Her film credits include The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, Sweet Bird of Youth, Dutchman (for which she received the Volpi Cup for Best Actress), and As Good as it Gets.
